Supported by multiple awards, he is doing an excellent work during his summer internship at Harvard
Aaron Lim — an undergraduate student carrying out research in our group since June 2024 — is participating in the HST Harvard-MIT Summer Institute in Biomedical Optics at Harvard Medical School (HMS), hosted by the Wellman Center for Photomedicine. He won the Best Oral Presentation Award for a poster entitled "Photodynamic Modulation of Stellate Cell Differentiation in a 3D Organoid Model of Pancreatic Cancer".
Aaron started his summer internship at HMS in May 2025 for three months, financially supported by several prestigious awards from OU, including:
Dodge Family Academic Scholar Award  ($3,000)
Herbert A. and Lela Mitchell Berlin Endowed Scholarship Award  ($1,800)
Dr. Floyd E. Farha Excellence in Chemistry Scholarship Award  ($1,000)
OU President’s Award for Outstanding Sophomores
Together, these total $5,800  in recognition for academic achievement and research.
His research is interested in phototherapy and has led a team to publish an editorial article in Angewandte Chemie (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2025, 64, e202423550). He is also the Founding President of the OU Chemistry Club starting from Fall 2025 and is excited to grow the organization into a meaningful resource for students while helping promote the department’s excellence.
